Our Australia Day Awards recognise members of our community who have gone above and beyond to help improve the lives of others and contribute to a diverse, friendly and strong community. The awards recognise our volunteers, people and organisations who have had exceptional achievements in sports, arts, or culture.

As part of the Australia Day celebrations for 2025, Lockyer Valley Regional Council will be presenting six categories of awards to residents of the Lockyer Valley region:

 

  • Citizen of the Year.
  • Young Citizen of the Year.
  • Senior Sportsperson of the Year.
  • Junior Sportsperson of the Year.
  • Event of the Year.
  • Community Organisation of the Year.

 

Eligibility

 

  • Nominees must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Nominees must be a resident of the Lockyer Valley region for 12 months prior to Australia Day (26 January) 2025.
  • Nominees can self-nominate.
  • An individual or group can be nominated for more than one award category.

 

How to enter

 

  • Complete the entire nomination form and provide any additional documentation that may support the nomination.
  • Provide nominee contact details.
